Wes Welker is a systems wide reciever.
He is average at best only because Randy Moss attracts double coverage and he is left in single coverage with Brady throwing the ball, and that was two years ago when Brady was 100 percent.
Rivers has to be ahead of Romo and Mcnabb. Romo is terrible by the end of each of the last two seasons heading into playoffs.

it has really nothing to do with numbers, it all has to do with their ability to make plays and how they perform. Just because someone has better numbers than another guys doesnt mean that guy is better. It all depends on the team and their weapons.
Why is Marion Barber each year consistently rated in the top 10 of running back but hasn’t even has 1,000 yard season. I thought this year of Madden would be different but you still see things that shouldn’t bee. If he’s in the top to then what about Brandon Jacobs and why is Frank Gore rated so high. This is stuff that should obvious to see. If Marion Barber is rated that high and he hasn’t has a 1,000 yard season, I wonder how high you guys are waiting to rate him as soon as he cracks it.

These ratings will never be perfect and I agree Marion Barber and Tom Brady are both overated if stats are based on what they did the season before. Uh Boys…Tony G is the best tight end in the game period. I can live with most of the ratings I just hope they don’t make certain players unstoppable i.e. felix jones, chris johnson, zach miller…these players play way better than their ratings.
Wow. Tony Romo does not make spectacular plays on a regular basis. He makes awful plays on a regular basis. His arm and accuracy are marginal and his decision making is horrible. Demarcus Ware probably isn’t a 99 because he lacks a little in coverage. 98 is pretty good. Just because you’re a Dallas fanboy doesn’t mean everyone on the team is amazing.
Also, Wes Welker is not a product of the system. That’s insane. He put up big numbers in Miami before he came to New England. He’s a legit top ten receiver.
The one that really surprised me was Brian Westbrook. He’s one of my favorite RBs, but he’s definitely on the downside of his career. He’s on the wrong side of 30, has problems with his legs and isn’t the same runner he was a couple years ago. If healthy, he’s still one of the best weapons in the NFL, but I don’t know he’s the number two RB in the NFL anymore. I can get behind Jacobs being in the top 10 over Barber if he could stay healthy. Hell, if he stays healthy for a full season, he could be in the top 3.
Honestly, the ratings never really bother me. Some will be way off because a player had a career year that they won’t match in the 2009 season and some players will prove they’re better than their rating. Shaun Hill, for example, will probably start pretty low, but I’d be willing to bet that he has a decent season and his rating goes up while Matt Cassell will probably start pretty high, but will probably struggle in KC, especially without TG, and his rating will probably go down.
On a final note, I’m not a big fan of Rivers’ personality, but anyone who says he isn’t a top 10 quarterback clearly didn’t see him play last year.
As an avid Broncos fan, Cutler deserves his 87. If he were rated higher, I’d have to squawk. He’s got a cannon arm, certainly, but his vision is lacking. He screwed up a lot of games in the 08 season with turnovers. Maybe he’ll thrive in Chicago, maybe he won’t. I’m guessing now that he’s lost the protection of Denver’s front five and the passing weapons the Broncos offered, he may not do nearly as well.
Ryan was also a rookie who benefited from his system, not from himself being a phenomenal player. Rookie of the year aside, he has good vision and good accuracy, but he’s rough around the edges. With a little bit of polishing, he’ll be pushing 90s in no time.
I just hope Madden fixes the simulations in their ratings. I’m really tired of watching my OL and DL soar into the upper 90s while my CB and Wide-outs flux around the upper 80s to low 90s.

Most of yall are ****** ********…Ben Roethlisberger is a very good quarterback, however his offensive line is horse ****, therefore i think he deserves close to the rating he got. Matt Forte played one season, there is no way he should be rated higher than Ladanian Tomlinson, who is a touchdown machine. Phillip rivers is a baby back bitch, who had plenty of weapons around him, and should be 88 AT BEST. Wes Welker is so overrated that I am literally sick to my stomach. He was a slot receiver in Miami, so dont tell me he put up numbers when he was there. He put up numbers when teams double covered Randy Moss and Donte Stallworth, leaving a nickle corner on him or an outside linebacker. He was the product of Bill Belicheks offense and nothing more, any other receiver put in that position would have had his numbers. Same with Tj Housh, without Chad Johnson and Chris Henry, he will be trash. Also, has Kellen Winslow played a down of football since he got drafted, cuz im pretty sure he has just been crashing motorcycles and talking **** for the past few years. Though I will admit he is a hell of an athlete, he hasnt produced to what he is capable of, or what his ratings are. As for Ray Lewis, I think his awareness and tackling ratings wont suffer, however he has definitely lost a step. He is still a great linebacker, and i bet he will still have a rating of over 94, so I dont think its anything to worry about. I am kind of surprised santonio holmes isnt at 92, but that is more of a judgement call, next year will be critical for him as far as these things go. On a closing note, the reason Jay Cutler isnt rated higher is probably his awareness. He might be the most talented Qb in the league but he makes piss poor decisions on the field.

I often said that if Madden couldn’t get the obvious things correct that I would stop playing it. Madden 09 was a game clearly made for the Pats and Cowboys. If you didn’t watch the Superbowl, you would have never knew that the Giants were the Champs on that game. And now that this new game is out they are going to show the Steelers Superbowl love. This game has too many inconsistencies, and though it’s just a game. I can’t even bother to play Madden anymore. There are too many bias hearts at EA. Why is Marion Barber and Frank Gore in the top 10 in runningback? Why is Romo rating so high? Why is Philip Rivers rated so low? Regardless of what anyone says the Champs are supposed to be the best team on the game. EA needs to try to be consistent, because you are already seeing the same bull that they already know isn’t right, but hey when you want players to be great in your heart you are going to rate them accordingly.

Ok a bunch of things need to be said. For starters all of you need to learn how the hell to type in ENGLISH damn. Second off, these ratings are garbage and I have a feeling they’re either not true or are still in the process of being tweaked. Michael Turner is so much better than Mr. fragile Westbrook. And for the people that think Adrian Peterson should be a 99… maybe when he learns to hold onto the ball. At the QB spots Romo should be so much worse, he’s awful you all need to admit it, Romo can’t even swallow an aspirin without choking. Marion Barber is alright but he’s no where near Steve Slaton’s, Chris Johnson’s, and Matt Forte’s levels. Cutler should be more of a 89-90, throws way too many pics but I still give him credit. Nah Miles I have to disagree with some of your ratings. Sure D Ware lead the league with sacks, but it’s his first time doing it. He’s good at 98. Haynesworth doesn’t deserve a 99 either. Him and Kevin Williams had the same amount of sacks at DT 8.5 and Williams was suspended 4 games. Marion Barber is truthfully around about a 86-87. Peterson fumbles too much to be a 99. Turner had one good year let’s pump the breaks a bit. Forte is too high too. Let’s wait and see what he does this year. I like Portis better than Forte. He had more yards than him and has been doing even since he left Denver. To sum it up, we all have different opinion on stuff when it comes to this game, but the obvious stuff is a head-scratcher will should be able to see some of this stuff. Romo was terrible last year. You can put up alot of yards just from throwing alot that doesn;t mean you really had as good of a year as it appears.
